CRM On-Premise: Full control over data, infrastructure, and compliance

Not every company wants to store its CRM data in a public cloud. An On-Premise CRM offers maximum control – whether locally, in a private cloud, or as a hybrid solution.

Why On-Premise CRM Is Regaining Importance

While cloud solutions have made CRM systems significantly more accessible in recent years, requirements for data protection, data sovereignty, and compliance are rising across many companies. Questions regarding the storage location of sensitive data, administrative access rights, and regulatory guidelines are increasingly becoming the focus of strategic IT decisions.

On-premise offers a decisive advantage here: companies retain control over their data, infrastructure, and security processes. At the same time, existing IT landscapes, custom policies, and complex business processes can be flexibly accommodated.

Data protection today means more than GDPR

The GDPR is just the beginning for many companies. Questions surrounding data sovereignty, hosting, and compliance are often decisive – particularly in regulated industries or when dealing with sensitive corporate data.

On-Premise CRM: Control over data and operations

With an on-premise CRM, companies do not just dictate where their data is stored. They also decide for themselves when updates are installed and how the system is operated and secured.  Automatic changes to the interface or functions can thus be avoided, and new features can be integrated into internal operational and approval processes in a targeted manner.

This is particularly interesting for companies that manage their IT centrally.  Monitoring, backup, logging, security oversight, and patch management can be integrated into existing processes and tools instead of building parallel structures alongside them.

CRM hosting in Germany

Many companies want to decide not only which CRM solution they use, but also where it is hosted. That is why Login Software supports various hosting models – from classic on-premise installations to dedicated private cloud environments.

Upon request, we operate CRM systems in German data centers, for example at Hetzner. This allows companies to combine a clearly defined data location with a professional operating environment and fast response times – without necessarily having to host the CRM on their own infrastructure.

Short distances for large data volumes

Another advantage becomes apparent in heavily integrated system landscapes. For instance, when prices, inventory, bills of materials, service information, or documents are continuously exchanged between CRM, ERP, DMS, and other systems, a local or dedicated infrastructure can simplify integration.

Data does not need to be transmitted unnecessarily across external platforms, and existing systems can be linked directly with one another. Particularly with large data volumes or time-critical processes, this can offer performance and operational advantages.

For which companies is On-Premise suitable?

Wherever sensitivedata is processed, numerous systems need to be connected, or custom processes must be mapped, a locally or dedicatedly operated CRM can offer decisive advantages.

An On-Premise CRM is particularly suitable for organizations with high demands regarding data protection, compliance, security, or custom IT structures. This includes, for example, industrial companies with complex system landscapes, healthcare and medical technology, associations and organizations, as well as public sector companies and public contractors.

SugarAI as a technical foundation

For on-premise, private cloud, and hybrid CRM projects, Login Software relies on Sugar Enterprise – a powerful CRM platform for companies with high demands regarding data protection, integration, and custom business processes.

Sugar Enterprise can be adapted to various infrastructure concepts – from operation on proprietary hardware or virtual machines to modern container-based environments. This allows the CRM platform to integrate into existing data center and hybrid structures instead of requiring a completely new technical environment.

Frequently asked questions about On-Premise CRM

What is an On-Premise CRM?

An On-Premise CRM is a CRM solution operated on a company's own IT infrastructure. In contrast to a public cloud solution, companies retain control over data, systems, and security policies. An On-Premise CRM is particularly suitable for organizations with high demands regarding data protection, compliance, and data sovereignty.

When does an On-Premise CRM make sense?

An On-Premise CRM is recommended for companies that process sensitive customer or corporate data, must comply with regulatory requirements, or wish to manage their IT infrastructure themselves. This operating model is particularly common in manufacturing, healthcare, associations, and the public sector.

What is the difference between On-Premise CRM, Private Cloud, and Public Cloud?

With an On-Premise CRM, the software is operated on the company's own infrastructure. A Private Cloud uses a dedicated hosting environment with clearly defined security and governance guidelines. A Public Cloud is shared by multiple customers and operated entirely by the provider. Which model is suitable depends on individual requirements for data protection, flexibility, and administration.

Is a hybrid CRM useful?

Yes. Many companies choose a hybrid CRM architecture. In this setup, existing on-premise systems are combined with selected cloud services. This model connects high flexibility with maximum control and is particularly suitable for grown IT landscapes.

What are the advantages of CRM hosting in Germany?

CRM hosting in Germany offers short distances, high security standards, and helps companies implement data protection and compliance requirements. At the same time, companies retain control over their data and benefit from a powerful infrastructure.
