New SugarAI 26.2 Release: More AI Support for Sales
Which sales opportunities require attention? What is important to know before your next client meeting? And where is engagement with a customer starting to wane? The information you need is often already in your CRM—but gathering and contextualizing it takes valuable time out of your daily sales routine.
With SugarAI 26.2, AI-powered support is brought even closer to these everyday tasks. Features like Sugar Cube, Smart Prompts, and AI-driven insights are designed to help you access information more easily and prepare for your next steps. We’ll take a look at what’s behind these tools and what you should keep in mind when using them.
Sugar Cube: Asking questions instead of gathering information
Sugar Cube is an AI assistant integrated directly into the CRM. Users can query records using natural language, request summaries of information, or receive assistance in prioritizing their tasks.
The documentation cites examples such as searching for sales opportunities above a certain value or identifying deals expected to close within the current month. Sugar Cube can also aggregate relevant CRM data to help prepare for client meetings, even suggesting potential discussion topics. The potential benefit: less time spent searching and a faster overview of the client and their current priorities. At present, however, the system only supports queries made in English.
Smart Prompts: Tips provided before anyone even asks
Not every risk is immediately apparent when looking at the sales pipeline. "Smart Prompts" are designed to proactively highlight relevant developments on your dashboard. They analyze CRM records—such as stalled sales opportunities, overdue activities, or customer relationships with declining engagement—on a 24-hour cycle. Conversely, they can also flag customers with whom engagement is on the rise. Through a notification card, you can open the analysis within Sugar Cube and explore it further by asking additional questions.
For your sales teams, the key advantage is that they do not have to manually track down every anomaly using filters and reports. Whether these insights effectively set the right priorities for your organization will become clear when applied to specific customers and sales opportunities.
AI Analytics: Creating analyses through dialogue
With AI Analytics, you can trigger an analysis by simply asking Sugar Cube a question. Users describe the desired metric, grouping, or time period and receive a corresponding visualization of their CRM data.
Analyzing a pipeline by sales stage thus becomes as simple as a chat query. The visualization can then be refined through follow-up questions—for instance, by adding a regional filter. This is particularly useful for spontaneous questions that arise during day-to-day sales activities—inquiries that previously would have required the creation of a formal report. As always, the results and the underlying data should be verified.
Incorporating corporate knowledge in a targeted manner
In addition to CRM records, Sugar Cube can also draw upon selected content from your company’s internal knowledge base. To enable this, the relevant articles must be explicitly authorized for use by Sugar Cube, while existing access permissions remain fully respected.
This allows, for example, internal procedures or policies to be integrated into responses. It facilitates the seamless combination of customer information and documented process knowledge in day-to-day operations. The prerequisite is that the content must be up-to-date, easy to understand, and clearly formulated.
Conversation content becomes more useful within the CRM
Integration with Microsoft Teams and Zoom is also highly beneficial for sales teams. Sugar Connect can pull AI-generated summaries—along with transcripts and links to recordings—from these platforms and attach them to the corresponding appointment or call record within the CRM. These summaries can subsequently be searched via Sugar Cube and leveraged alongside other CRM data.
A key requirement is that the appointment must already be synchronized through Sugar Connect, and the summary must have been generated within Teams or Zoom; Sugar Connect then imports the existing content. Google Meet is currently not supported for this feature.
Especially in the context of longer B2B sales cycles, this can significantly streamline preparation for follow-up meetings. Agreements reached and outstanding action items remain easily accessible, even when several weeks pass between appointments.
What companies should clarify before implementation
The AI features described are not automatically available to every Sugar user. Sugar Cube requires an appropriate "Plus" edition of Sugar Sell and an instance hosted on SugarCloud. In addition, the necessary technical requirements must be met, and the features must be enabled by an administrator. Access can be managed via roles.
For implementation, it is advisable to start with a clearly defined use case—for example, preparing for customer meetings or identifying stalled sales opportunities. This allows you to evaluate the usefulness of the AI-generated responses, determine what information might be missing, and assess how much effort is actually saved. Up-to-date CRM data and transparent, verifiable results remain crucial for this.
The release is currently being rolled out gradually across SugarCloud. The innovations presented here are based on official product documentation. Once we have tested these features ourselves, we will share our practical, hands-on experience.
More support for day-to-day sales activities
In our view, the potential of SugarAI 26.2 lies in the interplay of its features: the ability to ask questions about CRM data, identify relevant trends earlier, and easily retrieve content from past conversations. This can help sales teams get up to speed more quickly and prepare their next steps with greater focus.
Which of these capabilities are the best fit for your organization depends on your specific processes, your data foundation, and the edition you are using. LOGIN Software can assist you in identifying suitable use cases and evaluating the requirements for implementation.
